Globally Unique Identifier

Un Globally Unique Identifier o GUID es un número pseudo-aleatorio empleado en aplicaciones de software. Cada GUID generado tiene una "garantía matemática" de ser único. Esto está basado en el principio de que el número total de claves únicas ( o ) es tan grande que la posibilidad de que se genere un mismo número dos veces es virtualmente cero.
